We were trying to use Adobe X standard to print to PDF and embed the fonts. When we had Adobe 7 and word 2003 it worked. However this user just recently had a computer upgrade and software upgrade to word 2010 and adobe X. I am very green to Adobe when it comes to embedding fonts. I do see some options to embed fonts (although i dont see the one we are using) in the C:psfonts directory.
